Gov. Pritzker Meets with Illinois Agriculture Leaders Over Tariffs and Trump’s Tax on Working Families

CHICAGO — Governor JB Pritzker met with leaders from Illinois’ agriculture groups on Friday, including the Illinois Beef Association, Illinois Corn Growers Association, Illinois Pork Producers Association, and Illinois Soybean Association, to discuss concerns over the Trump administration’s tariffs and the impact of Trump’s Tax on Working Families. The Governor claimed these policies are causing instability in agricultural production, raising prices, and threatening jobs. Illinois is the third-largest agricultural exporter in the U.S. Pritzker and leaders also addressed delays in federal funding for vital USDA programs, which could disrupt meat and poultry processing and further strain Illinois farmers.
