Founding Member of Elite Rock Island Arsenal Guard Unit Retires After 23 Years

ROCK ISLAND — Master Sgt. Jennifer Dorsey of Moline, one of the original Soldiers who helped build the 6th Battalion, 54th Security Forces Assistance Brigade at Rock Island Arsenal, has retired after 23 years of service in the Illinois Army National Guard. Dorsey, who began her career in the Galesburg-based 444th Chemical Company, played a key role in staffing and organizing the newly formed battalion in 2018, later deploying with the unit to Romania to support NATO operations. Throughout her career, she held several leadership roles focused on operations, readiness, and human resources, contributing to domestic emergency missions and international military partnerships. Her legacy continues through her children, including one daughter serving in the same battalion.
