Flagg Township Museum to Host Constitution Day Event Sept. 13

ROCHELLE – The Flagg Township Museum will host an interactive Constitution Day event at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, exploring the debate surrounding the U.S. Constitution. The program will feature a conversation between Federalist John Jay and Anti Federalist Elbridge Gerry as they discuss the merits and concerns surrounding the document. Visitors will also have a chance to consider a modern day statement and decide whether they would sign or not sign. The event will give guests an opportunity to listen, discuss the issues and consider whether they would have signed the Constitution in 1787. The Flagg Township Museum is located in Rochelle’s historic Old City and Town Hall building.
