ROCHELLE – The Flagg Rochelle Community Park District has made improvements to its minor league baseball field by incorporating turf and clay mix, leveling the surface, and preparing for additional work after recent rains. Executive Director Jackee Ohlinger said the Junior High fields will have bases installed for backup use. Landscaping was completed at Cooper and Powers Park shelters, and the Skare Park driving range opened April 1st. Tokens for use will be available at the REC Center. Most park water fountains and restrooms are also now open. The Recreation Department released its summer activity guide, featuring new programs like a June 28th outdoor triathlon and youth volleyball with 49 spring participants. Soccer has four teams in the Oregon/Byron league, and “Tri Your First Tri” will return in winter.
