First Annual “Extra Special Easter Egg Hunt” for Kids with Special Needs to be Held April 5th

STILLMAN VALLEY — The first annual “Extra Special Easter Egg Hunt” will take place on April 5th at SMSF Club Park in Stillman Valley, offering a unique Easter egg hunt for children with special needs. The event will run from 12 PM to 3 PM. and is open to children aged 3 to 12. Preregistration is required due to limited spots.

Mary Surr with Swedish Music and Sick Fraternity said the event will feature a number of accommodations.

“One field will be beeping eggs for children who are visually impaired. They can go out and take their time and their parents will have a little remote control to beep the eggs so the children can hear them and go out and find them. And then another area will be for children who need to be in wheelchairs or walkers or just have difficulty bending over to pick up the eggs. And those eggs will have magnets in them. And we’ve made little poles that have magnets at the end of them so they’ll be able to hold on to the poles and use the magnets to pick up the eggs.”

Children will also be able to enjoy games, arts and crafts, photo ops with the Easter Bunny, and a hot dog meal for $5. Registration can be completed by emailing [email protected]. The SMSF Club Park is located at 7625 Kishwaukee Rd, Stillman Valley.
