DeKALB – Fire Station Four is now operational following an informal opening held by the DeKalb Fire Department. The $4 million facility was built to improve emergency response times in the area and remains within budget, according to city officials. Final construction work is ongoing, with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony expected once the station is fully outfitted. Staffing plans are underway, with funding allocated in the city’s fiscal 2025 budget. The project is funded through a general obligation bond and marks the department’s fourth station. The new facility is located at 1130 S. Malta Road.
