A heat advisory is in effect from 10 AM Saturday through midnight Monday, with temperatures forecasted to reach the upper 90s and heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees. Consecutive days of extreme heat, along with warm overnight lows in the mid-70s, may increase the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Health officials urge people to stay in air-conditioned spaces, wear lightweight clothing, avoid peak sun hours, and drink plenty of water. Vulnerable populations such as young children, older adults, and pregnant women should be monitored, and pets should be kept hydrated and never left in vehicles.
