ROCHELLE — Starting today, the Rochelle Municipal Utilities Water Department will begin emergency water main replacement work at 1st Avenue and Washington Street. The project will close roads between 6th Street and 2nd Avenue, and between 6th Street and Main Street, with work expected to wrap up by the afternoon of Friday, June 20. Truck traffic will be restricted east of Illinois Route 251 at Washington Street. Drivers should use alternate routes, and signs, barricades, detours, and other traffic controls will be in place. Caution is advised when traveling through the area.
