Duckworth, Durbin Secure $30 Million for O’Hare Runway Extension

CHICAGO – U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin announced $30 million in federal funding from the Federal Aviation Administration to extend Runway 9R/27L at O’Hare International Airport by 3,290 feet. The extension is expected to reduce flight delays, increase passenger capacity, and allow more aircraft operations. The funding supports efforts to improve and modernize O’Hare’s infrastructure, enhancing travel efficiency and connectivity for the region.
