WATERMAN — Police are investigating a driveway sealing scam after three men in a dark blue, older Chevrolet pickup truck reportedly demanded $3,000 from a resident after applying a black liquid to his driveway. The suspects, described as Hispanic males, had a compressor and large tank in the truck bed, which lacked a front license plate and had green carpet covering the rear plate. When the resident said he couldn’t pay, the men attempted to take his truck instead. They fled when police were called. The village of Waterman requires permits for door-to-door business solicitations, including driveway work, and residents are urged to report suspicious activity.
