KINGSTON — A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 400 block of E. Railroad St. in Kingston Friday night, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said the vehicle, a Mazda sedan, was traveling west on IL Route 72 when for unknown reasons, it veered onto the shoulder, lost control, and struck a tree on the north side of the roadway. The driver, the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office.
