Doodle Folk Music Festival Set for June 13 in Bishop Hill

BISHOP HILL — The Doodle Folk Music Festival will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the village park in Bishop Hill, featuring a full day of live folk music in an 1840s historic setting. The event is part of a celebration of America’s 250th birthday and will feature performances by several Illinois musicians. All concerts are free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

The lineup begins at 10 a.m. with Peoria singer songwriter Barry Cloyd, followed by the Taproot Wranglers at 11:30 a.m. The Bucktown Americana Music Show takes the stage at 1:30 p.m., and Lee Murdock closes the festival at 3 p.m. Organizers say the festival highlights folk, bluegrass, Celtic, Americana, and traditional music styles.

A display honoring Bishop Hill’s first folk musician, Jonas Danielson, known as Doodle, will be featured in the park gazebo throughout the day. The festival will also include performances that blend traditional and contemporary influences, along with a focus on regional music history.

In addition to the festival, the Filling Station Restaurant will host the 17th annual Honor Flight Benefit from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., including a pay-what-you-can breakfast buffet, a lunch buffet, a raffle, and a live auction. Proceeds will support Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. More information is available at bishophillheritage.org or by calling 309-927-3899.
