DIXON — The city of Dixon, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), has announced the start of Project ROCK, a $14 million initiative to expand recreation and mobility options for the community. The project includes the construction of a new bike and pedestrian bridge across the Rock River, connecting paths in Page Park and offering access to local destinations like Dixon High School and the riverfront. Funded by a federal $11.9 million grant and city contributions, the project is part of a larger effort to revitalize Dixon’s riverfront and improve safety and accessibility for residents and visitors. The new path, expected to be completed next year, is part of the ongoing development of the Dixon Riverfront Masterplan, which began more than 20 years ago.
