SYCAMORE — A 38-year-old woman from DeKalb was taken into custody Tuesday following a high-speed pursuit through Sycamore that involved multiple traffic violations and road-rage incidents. Deputies first responded to Glidden Road and Wolf Road around 12:30 p.m. in Kingston after reports of a woman causing a disturbance, then later located her vehicle performing burnouts near Gurler Road and South Fourth Street. The driver allegedly fled at high speeds, disobeyed traffic control devices, and drove through a school zone, prompting soft lockdowns at Sycamore High School and West Elementary School. Sycamore police used tire deflation devices, and the vehicle stopped on Concord Drive, where the driver fled on foot and was apprehended. Kara L. Hale faces charges including aggravated fleeing to elude a peace officer and other traffic violations and is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
