DeKalb Police Step Up Speed Enforcement Across City

DEKALB  — The DeKalb Police Department has increased traffic enforcement efforts in response to concerns about speeding and roadway safety. Recent enforcement details along Sycamore Road, Ridge Drive, Lincoln Highway and Annie Glidden Road resulted in 55 traffic stops during eight hours of activity, leading to numerous citations and warnings. Police said speeding remains a major factor in serious crashes and will continue targeted enforcement in areas identified through resident complaints, traffic data and officer observations. From Jan. 1 through June 11, officers made 2,927 traffic stops, issuing 1,861 citations and 1,907 warnings.
