SYCAMORE — DeKalb County residents are invited to attend a public meeting tonight to review proposed updates to the DeKalb County All Hazards Mitigation Plan, a document required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency every five years. The meeting will be held this evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at the DeKalb County Legislative Center Gathertorium, 200 N. Main St. in Sycamore The plan outlines steps local governments and the private sector can take to reduce damage and safety risks from floods, tornadoes, severe storms, and other natural hazards. Public comments will be accepted through June 18th. County officials said adoption of the plan will maintain eligibility for state and federal hazard mitigation grant funding.
