DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council approved two resolutions Monday to help fund the future purchase of five new paratransit vehicles. They chose to reallocate $135,845 in remaining Illinois Department of Transportation Rebuild Illinois Capital Grant funds toward the purchase of a medium duty paratransit bus. They also authorized the city to apply for $595,000 through IDOT’s Consolidated Vehicle Procurement program to purchase four 14 passenger paratransit buses and one ADA minivan. The grant funding would not require a local match by the City of DeKalb.
