DeKalb Approves Agreement for New Welcome Sign

DEKALB – The DeKalb City Council approved a license agreement Monday allowing the city to install and maintain a new welcome sign near Annie Glidden Road and Fairview Drive. The sign will be placed on property owned by the DeKalb Township Road District, which supports the location. The city will cover all installation and maintenance costs and will be responsible for repairing any damage to the sign or surrounding area. The agreement carries no fee for the city. The concept art features the NIU logo, but the proposal is only for a sign that says the City of DeKalb.
