(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs began their home series against the Rockies with a 3-1 victory. Kyle Tucker drove in two of his team’s runs, while Dansby Swanson drove in the third.
Jameson Taillon got his second straight win, allowing a run and striking out seven in six-and-a-third-innings of work. Chicago leads the National League Central with a record of 33-and-21.
Mickey Moniak drove in Colorado’s lone run on a homer, his fifth of the year. Carson Palmquist fell to 0-and-3, allowing two runs in five innings. Colorado has lost eight of its last nine and is 9-and-45.
Game 2 in the series is Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.
