The Seattle Mariners scored 7 runs in the final 4 innings Friday afternoon as they beat the Chicago Cubs 9-4 at Wrigley Field.
The Mariner’s were led by catcher Cal Raleigh who hit 2 home runs which gives him 29 for the season, the most ever by a catcher prior to the All-Star break.
Mitch Garver also had 2 home runs and 5 RBI for Seattle.
Eduard Bazardo got the win in relief.
The Cubs had home runs by Ian Happ and Reese McGuire. Caleb Thielbar took the loss in relief.
Game 2 in the series is Saturday afternoon in Chicago.
