An RBI triple in the top of the 10th inning by Nico Hoerner gave the Chicago Cubs a 2-1 win over the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night.
Hoerner had 3 hits in the game for the Cubs.
Ryan Pressly got the win in relief while Caleb Thielbar got the save.
Manny Machado had a home run for the Padres.
The rubber game of the 3-game series will be played Wednesday afternoon in San Diego.
