Matthew Boyd earned the win as Chicago has won four-of-five.
Landen Roupp got saddled with the loss after giving up four runs, two earned, for San Francisco, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.
Game 2 in the series is Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.
