SPRINGFIELD – Farmers in Illinois had 4.1 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending April 20th, as soil moisture levels remained mostly adequate. Corn planting reached 7 percent, falling below the 11 percent five-year average, while soybean planting advanced to 10 percent, ahead of the 7 percent average. Winter wheat heading reached 5 percent, just under the 6 percent average, with crop condition reported as 49 percent good and 6 percent excellent.
