SPRINGFIELD – Illinois voters statewide will be participating in the Consolidated Election, where political hopefuls will be on the ballot for a number of local offices, including township, school board, ward representatives and even mayor. Polls are open from 6 AM to 7 PM. Voters may register today at local county clerk’s offices or designated polling places, requiring two forms of identification. Same-day registration allows individuals to cast ballots immediately after registering. Identification is not required for registered voters voting in their correct precinct, but it may be needed if registration is challenged or if voter information is incomplete. Voters in line at closing time are permitted to cast their ballots.
