COMPTON – The Compton Village Board approved a tire recycling event allowing residents within village limits to dispose of up to 20 car or truck tires at no cost. Additional tires will be accepted for $3 each, and all tires must be removed from rims. Semi and tractor tires will be accepted for $12 each. The event is part of an effort to clean up the village ahead of the 150th Celebration planned later this year. The tire collection will be running through April 16th.
