Community Spirit Shines as ‘Give DeKalb County’ Raises Nearly $1.7M for Local Nonprofits

SYCAMORE – Give DeKalb County was a success yesterday, collecting donations that support 164 local nonprofits and endowment funds through online, mail-in, and in-person donations. Organized by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership, a program of the DeKalb County Community Foundation, the 24-hour fundraiser has raised nearly $1.7 million since midnight Thursday.

DCNP (DeKalb County Non-Profit Partnership) Director Ben Bingle said the money continues to pour in.

“We’ll continue to add to that probably next week and then maybe even the week after that. So stay tuned for the grand total,” he said.

All donations could get additional funding through a Bonus Pool supported by local partners. Bingle said it’s always amazing how much the community loves the organization.

“I just want to thank everybody for this outpouring of support. It’s been incredible.” he said.
