Chicago Aldermen Reject Fur Ban

CHICAGO –  Chicago Aldermen are rejecting a proposed ban on the sale of new fur products in the city.  The ordinance that would have banned the sale of products made with animal fur was voted down yesterday by the City Council.  Opponents of the measure believe it is too extreme, while supporters argue the ban would help reduce animal cruelty.  Chicago is home to six furriers, including the nation’s only Black-owned furrier.
