SYCAMORE – A candlelight vigil will be held tonight from 6 to 8 PM at the Sycamore High School Field House to honor Deputy Christina M. Musil on the one-year anniversary of her death in the line of duty. Musil, a 35-year-old deputy with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, was tragically killed when her parked patrol vehicle was struck by a truck in March 2024. The vigil will commemorate her service and sacrifice, with family, friends, and the community invited to attend the event at 427 Spartan Way in Sycamore. The event was originally scheduled to take place at the forest preserve, but was moved due to weather. Remarks will be given at 6:15 PM and again at 7:15 PM so both shifts of the Sheriff’s Office can attend.
