SPRINGFIELD — Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has announced Logan Boehle of Byron as the winner of the America 250 Essay Contest. The contest invited students in grades 6 through 12 from the 89th House District to write about American history ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Boehle’s winning essay focused on the history of Byron and the contributions Illinois has made to the country. McCombie said the essay showed pride in the local community and recognized the importance of preserving American history for future generations.
