BYRON — Byron Police Chief Jeremy Boehle recognized three officers for outstanding service during Wednesday night’s city council meeting.

Officer Michael Curtis was honored for achieving 10 career DUI arrests and Sergeant Garrett Henderson was recognized for reaching 25 DUI arrests.

Officer Tyler Hankins received a letter of commendation and a life saving pin for performing CPR on a man who had collapsed at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home on December 14th of last year. Hankins took over life-saving efforts until emergency responders arrived, and the man was transported to Swedish American Hospital. The commendation will be added to Hankins’ personnel file.
