BYRON — The Byron City Council is reviewing new legislation that would regulate the surfaces on which residents can park vehicles, trailers, or other items in their yards. The proposal would limit non-driveway parking to areas covered in asphalt or concrete, potentially excluding gravel and paving stones. The council discussed how to address existing gravel or crushed stone parking areas while ensuring that vehicles are not parked on overgrown vegetation. The council held its first reading of the proposed rules Wednesday, and a vote is scheduled for next month.
