DIXON — The Bollman Road Bridge in Lee County over I-88 closed Monday for repair work and is expected to remain closed into July, according to the Illinois Tollway. Officials said the full closure is needed because the bridge is too narrow to safely maintain traffic during construction. The project includes concrete repairs, bridge deck repairs and sealing work. Lane closures on I-88 will also be required during the project. After work on the Bollman Road Bridge is completed, similar repairs are scheduled to begin on the nearby Nelson Road Bridge, which is expected to be fully closed during July and August. The Illinois Tollway said the work is being coordinated with Lee County, Nelson Township and local emergency agencies.
