Body Found In Mississippi River In 1975 IDed As Missing Waukegan Teen

CLINTON, IA  —  The body of a female found in the Mississippi River north of Clinton, Iowa more than 50-years ago is being identified as a missing teen from Waukegan, Illinois.  The Clinton County Sheriff’s office says Cheryl Lynn Edwards’ body was located in the river in April 1975.  She was identified through forensic genetic genealogy.  Edwards was 15-years-old at the time of her discovery.  Her death was ruled a homicide, which remains under investigation.
