BYRON – The Rock River Valley Blood Center will be holding a drive today in Byron from 12:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said there are specific donors that are a high priority.
“So if your blood type is O negative or O positive, you are especially needed all the time, but really right now, we are struggling to keep our shelves supplied with those blood types.”
The blood drive will be held at The United Church of Byron at 701 West 2nd Street in Byron. You can make an appointment at RRVBC.org but walk-ins are always welcome. Yesterday, The Rock River Valley Blood Center, 102.3 The Coyote, and Holcomb Bank presented the “Save Our Summer” blood drive in Rochelle, collecting over 40 units of blood which will be used at the 14 area hospitals RRVBC supports.
