BISHOP HILL – The fifth annual Bishop Hill Book Fair will take place on Saturday, April 12th, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Bishop Hill Creative Commons, located at 309 Bishop Hill St. The event is free and open to the public.
The book fair will feature 17 local authors representing a variety of genres, including children’s books, folklore, young adult novels, romance, mystery, memoir, poetry, and history. Attendees will have the chance to meet authors, hear them discuss their works, and purchase books directly from the creators.
This year’s lineup includes authors such as Amanda McNeill, Carol Paur, Dan Moore, Grace McCormick, and Mike Bayles, among others. Whether visitors are interested in fiction or non-fiction, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Books will also be available for purchase, providing an opportunity for guests to collect autographs from their favorite writers.
In addition to offering a space for book lovers to connect with authors, the event will be an inspiring experience for aspiring writers. Young authors and teachers will have a chance to interact with seasoned writers, gain insights into the writing process, and explore ideas to help encourage creativity and writing skills in the classroom.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the local nonprofit organization Cultural Crossroads Connections, supporting its community-focused initiatives.
