(Joliet, IL) — Hall of Famer and Chicago Bears legend Steve McMichael is dead at the age of 67. The family says McMichael died Wednesday after a long battle with ALS.
Family spokesperson Jarrett Payton, son of Hall of Famer Walter Payton, says McMichael passed away surrounded by loved ones.
McMichael was a dominating defensive tackle who played 13 seasons for the Bears. His 95 sacks rank fourth among defensive tackles. After retiring from the NFL, McMichael spent some time as a professional wrestler.
