STERLING — Authorities are revealing more information about the crash in Whiteside County that left a 13-year-old boy dead. The Whiteside County sheriff’s office says a black Ford Edge was traveling east on Lomax Road Wednesday when it collided with a dirt bike being ridden by the teen, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name hasn’t been released, but he was a student in Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico School District. The SUV driver was evaluated and released from the hospital without injuries.
