Aurora Man Sentenced to Prison for Stealing Catalytic Converters on Dozens of Vehicles

CHICAGO –  A 29-year-old Aurora man is going to prison for removing catalytic converters from dozens of vehicles across northern Illinois.  Octavio Goytia was sentenced to three years after he pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated possession of a motor vehicle.  Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office charged him for stealing catalytic converters from vehicles in DeKalb, Kane, Will, Cook, DuPage, Lake, McHenry and Winnebago counties in 2021 and 2022.
