The temperature may have been in the 90’s with a heat index over 100 degrees, but there was football in Bloomington on Saturday.
The 51st Annual Illinois High School Shrine Football Game took place at Tucci Stadium on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University.
The top seniors in Illinois took part in the game. The Red All-Stars beat the Blue All-Stars 29-7.
The game was tied at 7 at half. The Red Team out scored the Blue Team 22-0 in the second half.
Rochelle had 2 players on the Red Team. Grant Gensler played outside linebacker and Colton Czekala on the offense line.
1 of the assistant coaches was Rochelle Head Coach Kyle Kissack who handled the defense.
Byron had 2 players on the Blue Team. Brayden Knoll was a running back and Nolan Brass played on the offensive line.
