April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

SPRINGFIELD – April is designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services will be leading the monthlong observance through various events statewide. The theme for this year, “Powered by Hope, Strengthened by Prevention,” underscores the responsibility of communities in ensuring children’s safety and well-being. Prevent Child Abuse Illinois highlights some of the partnership in preventing child abuse and promoting positive experiences for children through a number of different organizations.  Illinois residents are encouraged to participate by wearing blue on April 4th and sharing photos on social media with the hashtags #GreatChildhoods and #GoBlueIllinois.
