ROCHELLE – The annual job fair at Rochelle Township High School Thursday featured around 35 companies, offering a range of career opportunities for students and community members. Juniors and seniors attended the event in the morning, engaging with employers in healthcare, manufacturing, military, unions, and local businesses. The event, which was open to the public from noon to 2 PM, was a collaboration between the Kishwaukee College Career Office and the City of Rochelle.
Jenny Thompson, Director of Community Engagement with the City of Rochelle, said that it was a diverse mix for anyone in the workforce.
We’ve got summer jobs for kids, we’ve got career exploration where they can just kind of learn more about a career,” she said, “We’ve got jobs for people in our community who are looking for something. I mean, there’s just a great mix of everything. There’s something for everybody here today.”
Students also participated in an assembly on interview skills to help them prepare for future job opportunities.
