BISHOP HILL, IL — On Thursday, May 22, Aleksi Campagne, a versatile violinist and bilingual singer-songwriter from Montreal, will perform at the Bishop Hill Creative Commons. The evening will feature live music, food, and community starting with a potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:00 p.m. The event is open to all ages, offering a family-friendly experience in a cozy and welcoming venue.
Guests are invited to bring their own food and drinks to share during the potluck, creating an opportunity for attendees to socialize and enjoy the village’s vibrant community spirit before the performance. A suggested donation of $20–$30 will be collected at the door, with all proceeds going directly to support the artist.
Campagne’s music blends traditional folk influences with contemporary indie sounds, showcasing his talents on violin and vocals. He draws from his experience as a student of jazz and classical violin, as well as his background in folk music. Having toured extensively across North America and Europe, Campagne has performed at major festivals such as the Winnipeg Folk Festival and the Vancouver Island MusicFest.
The concert promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans of artists like Andrew Bird and Lisa Hannigan. Tickets and additional information are available at xroadscc.org/events.
