BISHOP HILL — A free performance by Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 12, in the village park in Bishop Hill. The concert is presented by the Bishop Hill Heritage Association, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the outdoor show.
The two hour performance will feature more than 30 ABBA hits, including “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Waterloo,” “SOS,” and “Fernando.” Organizers say the tribute show is designed for audiences of all ages and celebrates the music of the legendary Swedish pop group.
Food and drinks will be available during the event. The Bishop Hill Methodist Church will hold a bake sale near the Steeple Building Museum, while Uncle Bud’s Apple Cider Slush and Snazzy’s Lemonade will be located on Christina Street across from the park. Bishop Hill’s restaurants and bakery will also be open.
The concert is free thanks to support from Community State Bank, the Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, the Minneapolis Foundation, the Illinois Arts Council and the Bishop Hill Heritage Association. The park is located next to the Steeple Building at 103 North Bishop Hill Street. Golf carts and handicapped parking will be available for visitors.
