The Cubs are adding to their rotation. Chicago is acquiring left-hander David Peterson from the Mets. New York will be receiving minor league infielder Cole Mathis in exchange.
The Cubs add Peterson after placing starters Edward Cabrera and Ben Brown on the injured list. Peterson is likely to make his first start this weekend against the Milwaukee Brewers.
