The Cubs got on the board in the 7th inning on a solo home run by Ian Happ. Matt Shaw had a 2-run home run later in the inning.
Cade Horton was the winning pitcher for the Cubs as he threw 6 scoreless innings.
The only run for the White Sox came on a solo home in the 9th inning by Mike Tauchman.
Jordan Leasure took the loss in relief.
The rubber game in the series is Sunday afternoon.
