Golf Outing to Support Special Olympics Illinois Set for Sept. 18th

ROCHELLE – A golf outing to benefit Special Olympics Illinois will be Thursday, Sept. 18, at Fairways Golf Course in Rochelle. The event helps fund free, year-round sports programs for more than 1,700 local athletes with intellectual disabilities. Registration opens at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon.

Katie Risley, Director of Development for Region A of Special Olympics, Illinois said it will be great to be back in the community.

“We’re really excited about doing this again,” she said. “Last year was our first year for this golf outing and we’re just so thankful for the Rochelle community and Ogle County for embracing Special Olympics Illinois and really allowing our athletes to shine and raise money for a great program.”

Cost is $100 per golfer or $400 per team and includes lunch, two drink tickets, and chances to win prizes and raffles. Teams can sign up to play at SOILL.org, and hole sponsorships are available.
