Elder Care Services To Host Awareness Walk In DeKalb

DEKALB — Elder Care Services will host the 2026 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Walk on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northwestern Medicine Health and Wellness Center in DeKalb. The event is held to raise awareness about elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving older adults and people with disabilities. Organizers said this year’s theme is “Taking Steps Against Abuse.” The walk is free and open to the public, and proceeds from T shirt sales will support Elder Care Services programs in DeKalb County.
