OREGON — The Foundation for Focus House and Community Programming will host its third annual Golf Play Day on August 8 at Silver Ridge Golf Course, with registration at 10 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. The $100 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, dessert, raffle entries and sponsor swag. A hole-in-one contest will offer golfers the chance to win a new $50,000 car from Prescott Brothers Ford in Rochelle. Proceeds will benefit Focus House, serving youth in Ogle County as well as the Chana Education Center. Director Brenda Mason with Focus House said that this event helps support younger residents in need.
“We are primarily a residential juvenile treatment facility for youth, primarily in Ogle County that are involved with the court system, so youth that have kind of gone through the court and are continuing to have some issues, might have some issues at home,” she said. “So they come and they stay with us and get treatment for right around six to 12 months.”
