Dixon Crosswalk Replacement Work to Begin June 8

DIXON — Work under Dixon’s 2026 street resurfacing program will begin June 8 with the replacement of brick crosswalks downtown with stamped concrete, city officials said. The project is being completed in phases to maintain access for businesses, deliveries, emergency vehicles, and downtown events, with each phase expected to last about 7 to 10 days depending on weather. Phase 1 includes intersections at River Street, Peoria Avenue, West 2nd Street, and West 1st Street and Ottawa Avenue. Later phases will follow in mid June and after Petunia Festival. City officials said no closures are planned during Petunia Festival and downtown businesses will remain open throughout the work.
