The White Sox got a 3-run home run from Brooks Baldwin and a solo shot by Miguel Vargas.
Luis Robert Jr. also had a 2-run single while Chase Meidroth had 4 hits.
Tyler Gilbert picked up the win in relief.
Yandy Diaz had a home run for the Rays.
Game 2 in the series is Tuesday night.
